A remuneration should reflect how important the matter is to the client and it should relate to the effort, urgency and quality of the services provided.

Regarding proceedings before courts, minimum fees are stipulated by statute. The Attorney Remuneration Act is available in German language here. Contingency or success fees can under certain conditions be arranged for in individual cases. For matters out of court, a fee can freely be negotiated.
